| 70 foreigners were deported for cheating |
MEDAN-Immigration Office of the Ministry
of Justice and Human Rights of North Sumatra (Kemenkuham North Sumatra) deported
or repatriated 70 foreigners, who were involved in Cyber crime into their
respective countries.
Kemenkuham spokesman Sumut Josua Ginting said
the repatriation of 70 foreigners, gradually from late June to late July 2017,
through Kualanamu International Airport (KNIA) and Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
"Of the 78 foreigners who have been
arrested, 70 have been deported, and the remaining 8 Chinese nationals have not
yet, but in the same time," said Josua Ginting, Monday (31/7) afternoon.
The foreign nationals, totaling 78 people,
were secured by Police Headquarters in cooperation with North Sumatra Police
and International Police (Interpol). They were secured after fraud through
cyberspace, with victims from China and Taiwan.
These perpetrators, claiming to be the police
and prosecutors in their country. Then, they were taken in a warehouse on Jalan
Tanjungmorawa-Kualanamu, Deliserdang District, Tuesday, May 16, 2017, then. Of
the 78 foreigners, composed 54 Chinese citizens and 24 Taiwanese nationals.
"For Taiwanese citizens from 24
people, all of them have been discharged, while 54 Chinese origin have been
deported 46. The remaining 8 people are," said Josua.
The repatriation process, after the Government
of Indonesia through Kemenkuham North Sumatra coordinate with the Consulate
General (Consulates) of China in Medan and the Ambassador (Ambassador) Taiwan
in Jakarta.
Meanwhile, the return of the eight
foreigners from China, the Immigration of North Sumatra Kemenkuham awaiting
delivery of airline tickets from the Chinese government.
"We do not have to pay for the
repatriation or deportation of the troubled foreign citizens, so we pay for the
return from our respective governments," said Josua.
Josua said the 78 foreigners in Indonesia are
violating immigration documents in the form of residence permit, which is used
by dozens of foreigners while in Deliserdang District, North Sumatra.
He added that the deportation is to be
processed by the police in their respective countries. For in this country,
there is no legal process. Instead, the process of examining immigration
documents only.
"In the case of Indonesian citizen
fraud there is no victim, they commit fraud with their victims from China and
Taiwan as well as they only violate and abuse the residence permit.This
deportation is also done for their legal process in each country for fraud case
